John Piper on the Prosperity Gospel

What are we doing to glorify God and make him look beautiful? We are such selfish people and we want all the glory for ourselves. Are we satisfied with God and only God though he allows trials and tribulations? What have we made our treasure? Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. (Ps. 73) God is glorified when we look to him, humble ourselves before him and trust that he is our good provider, our Jehovah-Jirah.

"God is enough. God is glorified when we are satisfied with him in the midst of loss." -John Piper

*disclaimer-While I love what Mr. Piper has to say on this subject, I do not agree with all of his theology. This goes for most anything I post. I post what I agree with, so please do not assume that the portion I do agree with means agreement in full. Thanks.
